Information we collect
ChainGuard may process account information (name, email, institution), wallet and transaction data submitted for screening, workflow records such as alerts, cases, and notes created during review, and audit logs of actions taken inside the product. Wallet addresses and transaction data are often public blockchain data, but they can still become sensitive once linked to a customer's review workflow, so we treat them accordingly.
How we use information
Information is used to operate ChainGuard's core functions: running wallet screening, generating risk factors and scores, maintaining alerts and cases, producing reports, and supporting customer accounts. Website usage analytics help us understand how the public site performs; they are not used to build a profile of individual visitors beyond standard aggregate reporting.
Data retention
Service and workflow records are retained for as long as needed to support security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, billing, auditability, and product operation, and for any additional period required by a customer's own regulatory obligations. Retention periods for a specific engagement are set out in the applicable customer agreement where one exists.
Your rights
Visitors and customers can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to legal and operational retention requirements (for example, records that must be kept for audit or compliance purposes cannot always be deleted on request). Requests are handled through the contact page.
Security
Access to customer data is controlled through role-based permissions, authentication, and logging rather than open access. Security incidents that affect customer data are addressed under our internal incident response process and communicated to affected customers as required.
Third-party processors
We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate the website and product, including hosting infrastructure and web analytics (Google Analytics). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments; we do not sell customer data to third parties.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies required for the site and its public wallet-preview tool to function. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you reject or dismiss it, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
International data transfers
Where information is processed or stored outside the country in which a customer operates, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected consistently with this policy and any applicable customer agreement.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the product and its data practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
